The Texas A&M University (TAMU) System Board of Regents has approved a $6.6 billion, five-year System Capital Plan, guiding the system’s critical infrastructure and system decisions for the immediate future.
The budgeting document includes nearly $2 billion in new projects that will be implemented between 2026 and 2030, with plans to initiate $830.6 million in projects in 2026 alone. The remaining $4.6 billion consists of previously approved projects that are either in the design or construction phases.
The board’s approval of the capital plan paves the way for universities to begin pre-construction. While minor construction, rehabilitation, renovation and equipment and software procurement projects can begin in 2026, more significant initiatives will still require board approval before they can begin in earnest.

- Cain Street Dorm – $120 million.
- Innovation Lab – $48 million.
Prairie View A&M University – $228.1 million in proposed projects.
- Public and Allied Health Complex – $130 million.
- Hobart Taylor Expansion – $54 million.
- Wyatt Chapel Memorial Park and Integration – $20 million.
- Texas Institute for Preservation of History and Culture Museum – $20 million.
TAMU – San Antonio – $86 million in proposed projects.
- Health Sciences Building – $80 million.
Texas A&M AgriLife Research – $53.5 million in proposed projects.
- Rio Grande Valley Research Center at McAllen – $53.5 million.
System Offices – $39 million in proposed projects.
- Law & Education Building Addition – $24 million.
